PixelTennis — Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 27, 2026
PixelTennis ("the game", "we") is a pixel-art tennis game available on the web (pixel-tennis.web.app), on Android, and on iOS. This policy explains what data the game handles, why, and the choices you have. It applies to both platforms.
- You can play without creating an account: the game gives you an anonymous player identity automatically.
- We store your game profile and progress in the cloud so it can follow your account across devices.
- Your player name, nation flag, character look, and match statistics are visible to other players when you play online or appear on the leaderboard.
- The Android and iOS apps show optional, rewarded ads served by Google AdMob.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for any purpose beyond running the game.
Data we collect
Account identity
- Anonymous account ID — created by Firebase Authentication on first launch. This random ID (shown as PLAYER ID in Settings → Account) is the key that links your saved progress to you.
- Linked sign-in (optional) — if you choose LINK GOOGLE or LINK APPLE in Settings, we store the association and the email address of the linked account, used only to restore your progress after a reinstall or on another device. Linking is never required to play.
Data you provide in the game
- Player name (chosen by you), nationality flag choice, and your character's cosmetic look (colors, gear, racket).
- Game settings — music/SFX volume, training preferences, UI language, tutorial progress.
Gameplay data
- World Tour career progress (training points, stats, tournament results, trophies).
- Online match record — wins, losses, and matches started, recorded by our game server when you play online matches.
- Match tickets — the server tracks your online-match ticket balance, refill timing, and rewarded-ad credits.
Data shared with other players
When you play online or appear on the Global Top 100 leaderboard, other players can see your player name, nation flag, character look, world ranking, and match statistics. During an online match, your live game inputs and in-game reactions are relayed to your opponent. Please choose a player name you are comfortable showing publicly.
Advertising data (mobile apps)
The Android and iOS apps show rewarded ads (for extra match tickets and career bonuses) served by Google AdMob. Ads only play when you choose to watch one. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID) and related data to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. When an ad completes, Google sends our server a verification callback that references your account ID so the reward can be credited.
On iOS the app does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission and does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA), so it does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Ads there are served without a cross-app tracking identifier.
The web version does not currently show ads.
Technical data
Like nearly all online services, our servers (Google Firebase and Google Cloud Run) process IP addresses, timestamps, and connection logs as an inherent part of handling network requests. We use these logs only for operating, securing, and debugging the service.
The game does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or location.
How we use data
- To save your progress and settings and sync them across your devices.
- To run online matches, matchmaking, tickets, and the leaderboard.
- To credit rewarded-ad bonuses you chose to watch.
- To keep the service working, prevent abuse, and fix bugs.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers listed below.
Service providers
The game is built on Google services, which process data on our behalf:
- Firebase Authentication — anonymous accounts and optional Google/Apple sign-in.
- Cloud Firestore & Firebase Hosting — cloud saves, leaderboards, and the web app.
- Google Cloud Run — the real-time multiplayer relay and reward verification service.
- Google AdMob (Android and iOS apps only) — rewarded ads.
Their handling of data is described in Google's Privacy Policy.
Data retention and deletion
- Your cloud save is kept for as long as your account exists.
- You can delete your account and all its data yourself, at any time: Settings → ACCOUNT → DELETE ACCOUNT permanently deletes your account identity and everything stored under it — player name, look, settings, online match record, per-match history, and World Tour progress — on the device and in the cloud. If a Google or Apple sign-in is linked, you confirm it once more during deletion, the stored association and email are deleted with the account, and for Apple the sign-in grant is also revoked with Apple. This cannot be undone. If you keep playing afterwards, the game starts over on a brand-new anonymous account.
- Your entry on the public leaderboard disappears when it is next rebuilt, shortly after deletion.
- Unlinking a Google/Apple sign-in (Settings → ACCOUNT → UNLINK) removes the stored association and email while keeping your progress.
- Abandoned anonymous accounts are deleted automatically: an anonymous account (never linked to a sign-in) that has not been used for an extended period is removed by a routine cleanup, together with its cloud save and match history.
- Uninstalling the mobile app or clearing browser storage removes all locally stored data from your device.
- Server connection logs are retained only for the limited period configured in Google Cloud's default log retention, then deleted automatically.
If you cannot use the in-game deletion (for example, you no longer have the game installed), contact us at the address below and we will delete your data on request.
Children
PixelTennis is suitable for a general audience, but it is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. The only personal data the game asks for is an optional sign-in and a self-chosen player name. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
All traffic between the game and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / WSS). Cloud saves are protected by Firebase security rules so that only your authenticated account can write your own data, and sensitive branches (such as match records and tickets) can only be written by our servers.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top and, for significant changes, note it in the game's release notes. Continued use of the game after a change means you accept the updated policy.
